From the publishers of the popular Tall Tales and Short Stories from South Jersey comes a mesmerizing compilation of new fiction. Suspenseful and mysterious, with a touch of ironic humor, Reading Glasses will transport you to the very edge of reality.

Incapable of sleep and forced to keep it secret, a young woman searches tirelessly for the truth about her past.

A man seeking refuge from his mistakes happens upon a dried up bayside settlement with unfinished business.

An spinster returns to her childhood home to teach a valuable lesson to family vultures descending on her final days.

In a dystopian future where reading and writing are illegal, a fringe dweller discovers a pair of glasses that proves the literary world is alive and well.

A teenage boy’s family drama is no secret, and the judgment of outsiders is painful. One terrible day he rescues a tiny turtle, and soon discovers that a hard exterior isn't the solution.

Under the threat of international warfare, a woman coming to terms with the death of dear friends learns that their disappearance was not as permanent as it appeared.

An old man with a terminal illness, who feels he got life all wrong, wants to make sure that at least he gets death right.

Escape to the lives of these curious characters, and lose yourself in thirteen original stories. From life on a space station to tales that orbit a little too close to home, Reading Glasses is a compelling, fantastical departure from the familiar

My Review

Ok, so I debated on how to write this review, because there are of course different authors with different stories and different writing styles. So, here's what I am going to say. This book has very different things going on, but they are all based on something, There's always something to be had in reading books. Whether you're like me and love the fantasy, or you just can't get enough of that romance, or you love to read about those before us in biographies or non-fiction fact books, that's all the same- they are books. And they give us gratification of some sort :) Oh ok so now I am getting all deep. LOL
So of course I liked some stories more than others, which I won't be spoiling that and telling you too much, but I will be saying that all of these stories they are greatly written and will leave you feeling something different from each of their stories. And they are from all different walks of life, as well as all different ages. I think anyone who just likes a good story and maybe wants some diversity, this is a perfect one for you. Great writing, great stories, how about I just happened to think this is one cool book of mash ups! I loved it! 5 PAWS!! You should check it out! :)

PS Everyone say a shout out to Ms J Keller Ford, who is one of the authors, and she is the one who introduced me to this book! THANKS GIRL!! :)
