About the Book

New York Times bestselling author Sandra Hill continues her sexy Deadly Angels series, as a Viking vangel’s otherworldly mission pairs him with a beautiful chef who whets his thousand-year-old appetite . . .

Once guilty of the deadly sin of gluttony, thousand-year-old Viking vampire angel Cnut Sigurdsson is now a lean, mean, vampire-devil fighting machine. His new side-job? No biggie: just ridding the world of a threat called ISIS while keeping the evil Lucipires (demon vampires) at bay. So when chef Andrea Stewart hires him to rescue her sister from a cult recruiting terrorists at a Montana dude ranch, vangel turns cowboy. Yeehaw!

The too-tempting mortal insists on accompanying him, surprising Cnut with her bravery at every turn. But with terrorists stalking the ranch in demonoid form, Cnut tele-transports Andrea and himself out of danger-accidentally into the 10th Century Norselands. Suddenly, they have to find their way back to the future to save her family and the world . . . and to satisfy their insatiable attraction.

My review

I forgot how funny this author can be when she writes things like vampire Angels. It's quite hard to do this and she does it wonderfully! I mean the first few sentences, she's got a Viking named Cnut who is fat, and the sin of gluttony. And after his mistakes, is given a chance at redemption to become and angelic vampire to battle Isis. He starts out not so likable and greedy and lazy and outwardly selfish, but you'll change your mind. I did. And Micheal the Archangel had me giggling when we met him. But mike leads the Warriors so we see him a good bit. And each brother was turned to vamp because of the seven deadly sins so we see some others too. And then we meet Andrea in present day when she's looking for her missing sister. The hired PI says her sister joined Isis but something is fishy here. She gets Cnut to help her figure out what's really happening.

Along the way, we get to see Andrea go back to Cnut's home. It was really cool to see that and I loved this part of the romance. There's more romance than action but there's definitely a good bit of mystery and suspense. And here's my favorite part, the sinner of glutton, who was huge, transforms and looses all his weight, to pick a pastry chef as his partner!! HA! Damn the irony right lol!

Now I will say I haven't read all the books in this series, just the beginning one but no worries, these are the types of books the author doesn't make you feel like you've missed anything at all, and there's not info dump either to catch you up. She's got a great writing style and seriously, I just like that she does humor in her own way. She has a style thats unique to her and I love it! 5 PAWS!!! I'll be catching up on her books from this series!!

“The third book in Sandra Hill’s Deadly Angels series, Kiss of Temptation, comes out Tuesday. Along with it comes the temptation to play hooky that day so I can hang out with Ivak, who’s guilty of the sin of lust. Aren’t we all, when it comes to Sandra Hill’s books?”
